Abstract

Constantly tightening limitations concerning energy consumption and energy production ways in the EU area forces decision makers to take more into consideration when choosing energy production systems for buildings. Also the increasing demands of renewable energy amount, compels the buildings in the future to use renewable self-sufficient energy. The goal of this thesis is to find different energy system combinations decreasing the demand of purchased energy and to define chosen solutions' financial profitability for a target shopping centre. The energy source combinations surveyed in this thesis are condensate heat recovery with geothermal heat and the second combination is solar heat with geothermal heat. Geothermal energy is represented by Ruukki's energy pile system. Condensate heat is outlined to condensate energy created by refrigeration device of the convenience stores. These two combinations are compared to a reference system equipped with condensate heat recovery and district heating. According to this thesis the combination of geothermal heat with solar heat has the lowest purchased energy demand which is 25% lower than the demand for the reference system. Combination of condensate heat with energy piles has approximately 15% lower demand for purchased energy. As the financial profitability of the systems is evaluated the most profitable combination is condensation heat with energy piles with internal rate of return 16, 5% -24, 5% depending on the variables. Even the solar heat and energy piles combination has lower purchased energy demand the high investment cost diminish the profitability compared to the other combination the internal rate of return varying between 12,5% - 17%

Jatkuvasti tiukentuvat energiankäyttöä ja -tuotantoa koskevat rajoitukset Euroopan Unionin alueella pakottavat rakennusten energiantuotantojärjestelmien tarkempaan valintaan. Myös vaatimukset uusiutuvan energian kasvavasta käytöstä ajavat tulevaisuudessa siihen, että rakennukset hyödyntävät yhä enemmän uusiutuvia omavaraisia energianlähteitä. Tämän työn tavoitteena on löytää erilaisia energiantuotantojärjestelmien yhdistelmiä, jotka vähentävät kohdekauppakeskuksen ostoenergiantarvetta sekä selvittää näiden yhdistelmien taloudellinen kannattavuus. Energiantuotantojärjestelmäparit, joita työssä käsitellään, ovat lauhdelämmön talteenotto yhdistettynä maalämpöön. Toisena järjestelmäparina toimii aurinkolämpö ja maalämpö. Maalämpöä työssä edustaa Rautaruukki Oyj:n kehittämä energiapaaluratkaisu. Lauhdelämmön talteenotto rajoittuu elintarvikekauppojen kylmälaitteiden lauhdelämpöön. Näitä energiantuotantojärjestelmäpareja verrataan vertailutapaukseen, joka hyödyntää lauhdelämmön talteenottoa ja kaukolämpöä. Saatujen tulosten perusteella energiapaalujen ja aurinkolämmön yhdistelmä vähentää ostoenergiantarvetta 25 % verrattuna vertailutapaukseen. Lauhdelämmön talteenoton ja energiapaalujen yhdistelmä vähentää ostoenergiantarvetta 15 % verrattuna vertailutapaukseen. Vertailtaessa järjestelmäparien taloudellista kannattavuutta, kannattavimmaksi yhdistelmäksi paljastuu lauhdelämmön talteenoton ja energiapaalujen yhdistelmä, jonka nettonykyarvomenetelmällä laskettu tuotto on 16,5 % ja 24,5 % riippuen laskennassa käytetyistä eskalaation Ja inflaation suuruuksista. Puolestaan aurinkolämmön ja energiapaalujen yhdistelmän kannattavuus saa arvot 12,5 % ja 17 %.
