Abstract

This paper presents an analytical thermal model of a synchronous reluctance motor (SynRMs) to predict the temperature of its different parts. For the analytical calculation, a lumped parameter thermal network (LPTN) is developed and analyzed. To validate the developed model, measurements are carried out on an experimental setup including the analyzed machine. Finally, the test results are compared with the analytical results to assess the accuracy of the model.
