Abstract
“Kintsugi” is art research aiming to create an animation with the same title about the personal experiences of a woman in the traditional and religious society of Iran, where the development of an independent identity for women seems to be impossible and the only option is for them to follow and abide by the existing paradigms. The target audience of this animation covers mostly women between the ages of 15 to 45, while it aims for platforms such as film festivals, independent screenings, galleries, and artistic exhibitions for students, journalists, and women rights activists. This project aspires to create an animation using ceramics, though in a whole different process and as the main forming material for the characters. The animation makes use of metaphorical and poetic narration, along with the Japanese philosophical concepts such as “wabi-sabi” and “ma”, meanwhile with a certain Iranian ambience.Description
