Abstract
This thesis explores the re-internationalization process of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through a detailed case study of ResQ Club Oy, a Finnish technology company. The primary aim is to understand how SMEs leverage their past international experiences and learnings to re-enter previously exited international markets. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, this research investigates ResQ Club's initial entry, exit, time-out period, and subsequent re-entry into the German market. Key findings highlight the role of organizational learning, the impact of managerial attitudes, and the impact of prior experience and residual assets on shaping re-internationalization strategy. This study contributes to the broader academic discourse on non-linear internationalization pro-cesses, providing practical insights for SMEs navigating similar international trajectories. The results emphasize the importance of experiential knowledge, formalized documentation processes, and adaptive decision-making in re-engaging with international markets. This research addresses significant gaps in the literature by focusing on the dynamic and iterative nature of SME internationalization, offering both theoretical advancements and actionable strategies for business practitioners.Description
