Polar codes is the only channel coding technology that has been theoretically proved to be able to reach the Shannon Capacity with only linear complexity. It has been selected as the coding scheme for the shortcode control channel in the 5G eMBB scenario. In this paper, the basic principle of polar code is described in detail. And the encoding and decoding principles of polar code are introduced. In addition, this paper also deeply analyzes the basic idea of polar code design in 5G mobile communication. And the performance of polar codes, LDPC, and Turbo codes are simulated, analyzed, and compared by using Matlab.en
