Abstract

Tutustutaan Gromovin konjektuuriin ja määritellään hyperbolisen pinta-aliryhmän määritelmän kannalta oleellisia ryhmäteorian ja topologian käsitteitä ja havainnollistetaan niitä esimerkein. Määritelmien jälkeen tarkastellaan erästä relaatiosta muodostettua hyperbolista ryhmää ja etsitään sille epätriviaali pinta-aliryhmä.
