Abstract

This Master of Arts thesis consists of an artistic part and a written part. The artistic part forms the main part of the thesis. It is the feature-length documentary Lost Boys that I edited and that screened at Finnish cinemas in 2020. The written part is the lesser part of the thesis and focuses on reflections on the creative thought-process and observations made after the release of the documentary. It explains the different stages of creative process, but also the context of working withing an independent workgroup. There is also an overview of articles concerning the film. The film Lost Boys is available as a bluray and dvd-release, as well as from several internet streaming platforms.

Tämä taiteen maisterin lopputyö koostuu sekä taiteellisesta että kirjallisesta osasta. Taiteellinen osa muodostaa pääosan lopputyön kokonaisuudesta. Se on leikkaamani pitkä dokumenttielokuva Lost Boys joka pyöri suomen elokuvateattereissa vuonna 2020. Lopputyön kirjallinen osuus muodostaa pienemmän osan kokonaisuudesta ja se keskittyy reflektioon luomisprosessista sekä havaintoihin elokuvan julkaisun jälkeisistä seikoista. Se selittää luovan prosessin eri vaiheet ja myös itsenäisen työryhmätyöskentelyn kontekstin. Työssä on myös katsaus elokuvaa koskeviin artikkeleihin. Lost Boys saatavilla sekä dvd- että bluray-julkaisuna sekä myös erilaisista suoratoistopalveluista.
