Abstract
This thesis explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) into the deal origination process, focusing on investment banking, private equity, and venture capital. Big data and AI have started to disrupt the sourcing and screening of investment targets, a process that has traditionally relied heavily on industry networks and manual work done by analysts. Through past research and qualitative interviews this study discovers the key benefits of AI integration in the context of deal origination, while addressing core challenges and limitations.Description
