Abstract

This thesis evaluates the impact of applying a Design System in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) mobile application. The motivation behind this research is the need to implement a design system to the specific requirements of CMMS and its mobile version, which is primarily employed by maintenance operators. A user-centred approach was used to gather user needs and identify current pain points before implementing the design system. Based on this infor-mation, different UI design options were proposed and evaluated. The design system was adapted to address the specific needs and challenges of techni-cians, focusing on evaluating UI solutions and their effectiveness. The objective of this research is to assess the effectiveness of implementing a design system within an industrial context, specifically for a mobile version of the software. The study aims to improve usability and efficiency for mainte-nance operators through task-oriented UI design.
