Abstract

Over current protection for a buck type DC/DC converter was studied and a new method was developed. The converter topology used in this study is a basic buck topology. The topology is comprised of digital and analog circuitry. The objective of the study was to find out a practical and economic way to limit the output current of the DC/DC converter in startup, over current and short circuit situations. The converter using the current limiter was designed and processed in MAS Oy with MAS9T analog process.

Työssä tutkittiin ylivirtasuojauksen rakentamista buck -tyyppiselle DC/DC -konvertterille ja kehitettiin uusi menetelmä. Käytetty konvertteritopologia on alashakkaava konvertteri. Konvertteri koostuu digitaalisesta ja analogisesta piireistä. Työn tarkoituksena oli kehittää käytännöllinen ja taloudellinen tapa rajoittaa ulostulovirtaa käynnistyksen, ylivirran sekä oikosulun tapauksessa. Konvertteri joka käyttää virran rajoitinta suunniteltiin ja valmisteltiin MAS Oy:ssä MAS9T analogisella prosessilla.
