Abstract

Kieliteknologian kehittäminen ja integrointi terveydenhuollon tietojärjestelmiin ja asiakkaille suunnattuihin digitaalisiin palveluihin voi merkittävästi parantaa ohjelmistojen käytettävyyttä, nopeuttaa kirjaamista, tiedon löytämistä ja käsittelyä sekä edistää prosessien automatisointia. Terveydenhuollon jatkuvasti laajenevat tekstiaineistot ovat arvokas tietolähde ja sisältävät informaatiota, jota rakenteisessa datassa ei ole. Kieliteknologia avaa uusia mahdollisuuksia työkalujen kehittämiseen niin olemassa olevien massiivisten kuin myös pienten tekstiaineistojenkin hyödyntämiseen kliinisen työn, tietojohtamisen ja tutkimuksen tarpeisiin. Teknologinen kehitys on hyvin nopeaa, moni menetelmä on kehitysvaiheessa ja terve kriittisyys on tarpeen. Teknistä suorituskykyä arvioitaessa tulee huomioida myös kieliteknologiaan kiinteästi liittyvät inhimilliset tekijät.

The development and integration of language technology into healthcare information systems and digital services aimed at customers can significantly improve the usability of software, speed up recording, data discovery and processing, and promote the automation of processes. The constantly expanding text materials of health care are a valuable source of information and contain information that is not available in structured data. Language technology opens up new opportunities for the development of tools for the utilization of existing massive as well as small text materials for the needs of clinical work, information management and research. Technological development is very fast, many methods are in the development phase and healthy criticality is necessary. When evaluating technical performance, the human factors closely related to language technology must also be taken into account.
