Abstract
This thesis presents a collection of 3D digital models with a botanical theme, stemming from the development of a generative system harnessing visual archival resources, specifically sourced from the Aalto University Archive. Grounded in the rule-based generative technique known as clustering rules, the project revolves around the narrative of cultivating a fictitious digital plant Digi-Botanica termed ‘Digi-Botanica.’ Comprising four distinct specimens, the collection encompasses a thousand generative variations cataloged in a metaphorical herbarium. The primary objective of this research is to explore novel, non-conformist methodologies to approach visual communication design. This involves the application of digital generative systems to archival materials.Description
