Abstract
This thesis proposes a structured model to treasury management software selection process based on observations made during a real-life selection project in a multinational corporation. Additionally, fuzzy analytic hierarchy process multi-criteria decision-making method is applied in the evaluations of the alternatives and the applicability of the method is analyzed. The paper is a case study by design, combining both qualitative and quantitative aspects. In order to form a basis to build on, earlier research in the fields of software selection and multi-criteria decision-making methods is reviewed prior to moving on to the empirical part. The empirical part is split into two parts of which the first one considers the selection process as a whole, while the latter concentrates on the fuzzy analytic hierarchy application. The resulting structured model to treasury management software selection process emphasizes the importance of planning and proposes the use of scripted demonstrations prior to making the final decision. Regarding the use of fuzzy analytic hierarchy process, this paper concludes that the fuzzy extension to the model does take the vagueness of human judgment into account, though the traditional analytic hierarchy process seems to be an applicable method to be used in this setting as well.Description
