Abstract
This thesis investigates the relevance and impacts of sustainability to private equity firms. The study takes a closer look at sustainability factors in accounting and reporting, the value-creation of sustainability in theory and in practice to private equity firms and how ESG is affecting to private equity investment decision-making. The study is linked to private equity industry due to the case company, CapMan, operating in that field.
The thesis will be divided into two parts. First part focuses on theoretical framework of sustainability and private equity decision-making and the second part will introduce a case interview at CapMan. In the end of this thesis, it can be concluded that empirical findings from the case study sup-port the theoretical framework. Particularly the interview confirms that by incorporating sustainability principles and measures into their business, private equity firms can create value and long-term growth opportunities.
