dc.description.abstractThis Master’s Thesis explores the role of trust in creative teamwork and its impact on the entire organization. The problem of not having trust in creative teamwork is multifaceted, affecting the team’s ability to innovate, communicate effectively, maintain high morale, and build strong relationships. Addressing this problem is crucial for fostering a positive and productive work environment conducive to creativity and collaboration. This research highlights the importance of people in the creative process, from individuals to teams and organizations. It examines how design leaders can develop the competencies to build team trust. Through a literature review and interviews, this thesis explores the leadership approaches required to effectively manage creative teams, focusing on transformational leadership in design management. Additionally, the thesis outlines the essential skills and competencies required to foster trust in a creative team, such as self-awareness, vulnerability, and feedback. The work provides valuable insights for creative team leaders, design managers, strategists, innovation managers, and change agents seeking to transform organizational culture towards a stronger brand experience starting from within. The study contributes to the literature on design management and leadership by shedding light on the importance of trust-building in creative teamwork. Specifically, the thesis offers practical insights for aspiring leaders in the field of design. Examples include promoting transparency and open communication, being reliable and consistent, and demonstrating empathy and understanding toward team members.
