Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem is advancing rapidly as a wide range of physical networking, communication standards and platforms are introduced. Due to differences in systems and resources in IoT devices, there exist variations in these technologies, standards, and platforms. The heterogeneity of the technologies leads to critical interoperability challenge in IoT systems. There is a requirement for open standards which can overcome such challenge. This thesis focuses on Open Group's standards for IoT, which are Open Messaging Interface (O-MI) and Open Data Format (O-DF). In this study, at first literature review about IoT and interface on it has been carried out. The second part of the study focuses on implementing Open API from Lufthansa for publishing data on O-MI and O-DF standard as an experimental viewpoint. Comparison of Open API Standard with other identified protocols for assessment of performances, perspectives for future and suitability had been carried out based on evaluation criteria introduced in this thesis. Finally, the conclusion is drawn based on the evaluation result.
Asioiden internetin ekosysteemi kasvaa nopeasti verkkotekniikan, kommunikaation ja alustojen osalta. Koska IoT laitteiden systeemeissä ja resursseissa on erilaisuuksia on muodostunut useita variaatioita teknologioihin, standardeihin ja alustoihin. Tämä teknologoiden monimuotoisuus on johtunut yhteensopivuushaasteeseen IoT järjestelmissä. Tarvitaan avoimia standardeja nujertamaan tämä haaste. Tämä diplomityö keskittyy Open Groupin standardeihin asioiden internetiä varten. Nämä standardit ovat Open Messaging Interface (O-MI) and Open Data Format (O-DF). Ensin suoritettiin kirjallisuus tutkimus ja kokeellisessa osuudessa Lufthansa Open APIin tieto julkaistiin O-MI ja O-DF standardilla. Vertailussa käytetiin Open APIa ja muita protokollia arvoimaan suorituskykyä, näkökulmaan tulevaisuuteen ja soveltuvuutta valituilla kriteereillä, jotka esiteltiin tässä diplomityösä. Lopuksi tehtiin johtopäätelmät tulosten perusteella.
