Täydellisyys – omakohtaisia esseitä arkkitehtuurista

Abstract

Rakentamisen ekologisuus on aikamme suurimpia haasteita. Kierrätyksen, kestävyyden ja energiankäytön ohella myös arkkitehtooninen laatu on oleellista. Jotta tästä voidaan keskustella, täytyy ymmärtää, mitä arkkitehtuurilla tarkoitetaan ja mitä keinoja sillä on.

Työ käsittelee arkkitehtuuria esseiden ja täydellisyyden teeman kautta. Esseet ovat kirjoittajan omakohtaista pohdintaa. Esseissä viitataan rakennettuun arkkitehtuuriin ja arkkitehtuurin kirjoitukseen. Osa esseistä on tekstin ja osa kuvien muodossa. Työ on toteutustavasta johtuen luonteeltaan enemmän taiteellinen kuin tieteellinen.

Työn merkitys alalle muodostuu työn sisällöstä, esitystavasta ja työskentelytavasta. Työn sisältö on arkkitehtuurin aihepiirin merkitysten jäsentämistä. Valittu taitto ja kirjoitustyyli kannustavat lukijaa omakohtaisuuteen. Vapaa esseistiikka työskentelytapana toimii allegoriana työssä kuvatulle tavalle tehdä arkkitehtuuria.

Työssä määritellään arkkitehtuuria ja arkkitehtinä toimimista. Esitän mielipiteen, että arkkitehtuurissa johonkin muuhun kuin puhtaaseen logiikkaan nojaava luominen on tärkeää. Työn varsinaisena tuloksena voisi kuitenkin pitää lukijan omakohtaista kokemusta.

The ecology of construction is one of the greatest challenges of our time. In addition to recycling, sustainability and energy use, architectural quality is also essential. In order to discuss this, one must understand what architecture signifies and what means it has.

The work deals with architecture through essays and the theme of perfection. Essays are the author’s personal reflection. Essays refer to the built architecture and to the writing of architecture. Some essays are in the form of text and some in the form of images. Due to the way it is implemented, the work is more artistic than scientific in nature.

The significance of the work for the field consists of the content of the work, the way it is presented and the chosen working methodology. The content of the work is the structuring of the meanings of the topic of architecture. The chosen layout and writing style encourage the reader for personal experience. Free essayism as a way of working serves as an allegory for the way architecture is described in the work.

The work defines architecture and acting as an architect. I am of the opinion that in architecture, creation based on something other than pure logic is important. However, the reader's personal experience could be considered as the actual result of the work.
