Abstract

Impact of venture capital firm’s relevant industry experience on long-run post-IPO performance of portfolio company is studied in this research. A positive relation between the experience and returns has been found from investment finding perspective by Gompers et al. (2009). However, the effect has not been studied from monitoring service quality aspect earlier. The findings in this paper indicate the industry experience to have a significant positive impact on the post- IPO performance via VC monitoring services, too.
