Abstract
This thesis explores the development and impact of a VR cinematic game that combines immersive storytelling with interactive gameplay through a branching narrative. The primary objective was to investigate how VR technology can enhance storytelling in animation by offering multiple paths and outcomes. During the project, I designed, developed, and tested a VR game that integrates cinematic techniques with branching narrative elements. The results indicate that VR significantly enhances the immersive experience, making users feel more connected to the story and its various outcomes. The branching narrative provides unique opportunities for storytelling, enabling users to explore different paths and experience multiple endings. This research demonstrates that VR can be a powerful tool for animators, expanding how stories are told and engaging users more deeply. It offers game developers and animators valuable insights on incorporating cinematic elements in VR to maintain player engagement. The study also highlights several challenges faced during development, such as technical issues and time constraints, suggesting areas for future research. In conclusion, this thesis shows that VR can revolutionize storytelling in animation by combining cinematic techniques with interactive, branching narratives. The findings underscore the potential of immersive technologies to enhance narrative experiences and open new possibilities in VR and animation, providing a significant step forward in VR cinematic games.Description
