Abstract
Modern e-Business is about integrating information systems both within and between organizations. Since there are many different kinds of systems, all accepting different kinds of messages as inputs and outputs, dedicated integration platforms are needed. Most integration platforms take advantage of Extensible Markup Language (XML) family, which is becoming a standard tool used for exchanging documents and messages. In this thesis one of such platforms, Microsoft Biztalk Server 2004, is presented. The XML language family and some of its members are also described as needed for the practical part of this thesis. The BizTalk Server is evaluated by using it to implement an Investor Relations (IR) service application. The application is intended to be used to meet the new requirements of publishing the insider information in the Internet. To fully understand the business field operated in, the key concepts of investor relations and insider information are defined.Description
