Vuosaaren monipuolinen palvelukeskus

Abstract

Tämä diplomityö on rakennussuunnitelma Vuosaaren monipuolisen palvelukeskuksen uudisrakennukseksi. Työ on osa Aalto-yliopiston Sotera-instituutin Muuttuva yhteiskunta - muuttuvat palvelut -tutkimushanketta ja tehty yhteistyössä Helsingin kaupungin sosiaali- ja terveysviraston sekä kaupunkisuunnitteluviraston kanssa.

Vuosaaren monipuolinen palvelukeskus on ikääntyneiden palvelu- ja asumistoimintoja käsittävä hybridirakennus. Se koostuu julkisesta palvelukeskusosasta sekä yksityisestä, ryhmäkotimuotoisesta asunto-osasta. Palvelukeskuksessa järjestetään toimintaa eläkeläisille ja työttömille. Ryhmäkodit puolestaan tarjoavat tehostettua palveluasumista pääasiassa muistisairaille asukkaille. Rakennuksen kokonaislaajuus on noin 15 000 m2.

Monipuolinen palvelukeskus sijoittuu Vuosaaren keskustaan, olemassa olevan toimitilarakennus Albatrossin yhteyteen. Uudisrakennus muodostaa osan laajempaa kokonaisuutta, johon kuuluvat lisäksi Albatrossin rakennukseen sijoitettavat lapsiperheiden palveluita tarjoava perhekeskus sekä terveys- ja sosiaalipalveluita tarjoava terveys- ja hyvinvointikeskus.

Tässä diplomityössä on perehdytty vanhuspalvelurakentamiseen sekä erityisesti muistisairaille suunnatun rakennuksen suunnitteluun. Suunnittelutyössä on tutkittu, minkälaisia mahdollisuuksia hybridirakennusratkaisu tarjoaa. Tavoitteena on ollut esittää keskustamaiseen, urbaaniin kontekstiin soveltuva rakennusratkaisu, joka muodostuu luontevasti osaksi sekä ympäristönsä palveluverkostoa että kaupunkirakennetta.

This thesis is a building desing for a new service center building in Vuosaari. The thesis is part of the Changing Society - Changing Services research project by Sotera Institute at Aalto University, and it has been made in co-operation with the Social Services and Health Care Department and the City Planning Department of the City of Helsinki.

The new service center is a hybrid building that combines service and housing functions for the elderly. The building will consist of a public service center component, and a more private group home housing component. The service center will provide activities for the elderly and the unemployed. The group homes will provide service housing for the residents, most of which will suffer from memory disorders. The total area of the new building will be approximately 15 000 m2.

The new service center will be located in the center of Vuosaari, right next to an existing office building called Albatrossi. The new building is part of a larger entity, which also includes a family center that will provide services for families and a health and wellness center that will provide health and social welfare services. The family center and the health and wellness center will be located in the Albatrossi building.

This thesis focuses on desing a building for the elderly, and particularly for residents suffering from memory disorders. The desing work examines the possibilities of the hybrid building concept. The aim has been to present a desing solution that is suitable for the urban context and naturally blends in with the service network and the city structure of the surrounding environment.
