Culture can play an important role in influencing entrepreneurs’ attitudes, intentions, and behavior at the start of their journey. However, research lacks agreement on how and if this happens. By applying Ajzen’s Theory of Planned Behavior, this study explores how culture can influence entrepreneurs’ attitudes and behavior (RQ1). To develop a deeper understanding of cultural influence on entrepreneurs, this study also takes a closer look at Nordic culture and examines what kind of challenges and possibilities it can create for the individual entrepreneur (RQ2). Distinctive cultural concepts, namely Jante law and Sisu, are discussed. The findings show that culture can impact an entrepreneur’s values and beliefs, which influence attitudes and intentions and further entrepreneurial behavior. Jante law and sisu are found to create various challenges for entrepreneurs, resulting in a balancing act between personal and communal interest. Based on the discussion, this study suggests that entrepreneurship is strongly embedded in its context and cultural impact needs to be recognized to better understand the factors influencing entrepreneurs’ attitudes and behavior. This can help develop educational programs and ways to promote entrepreneurship in society.en
