Abstract

Opinnäytetyössäni tarkastelen taiteellista työskentelyäni katutaiteilijana ja Myyrmäen katutaidetriennaali 2024:n tuottajana. Tapahtuman tuottaminen ja siihen liittyvä työ muodostavat opinnäytteeni taiteellisen produktion, jota tarkastelen omakohtaisena, kronologisesti etenevänä prosessina. Lähestymistapani on autoetnografinen ja esseemäinen: kirjoitan kokemuksistani hyödyntäen aineistona viestejä, muistiinpanoja, valokuvia ja ääninauhoituksia. Työssä nousevat esiin taiteen ja tuotannon rajapinnat, yhteisöllisen taidetyön ristipaineet sekä katutaiteen kytkökset henkilökohtaiseen historiaani ja kaupunkiympäristöön Vantaan Myyrmäessä. Opinnäyteprosessin aikana olen käsitellyt työuupumusta, ammatillista identiteettiä ja luovan työn tasapainottelua, jossa keskeistä on ollut omien rajojen ja oletusten tunnistaminen ja niistä oppiminen.

This thesis examines my artistic practice as a street artist and my role as the producer of the Myyrmäki Street Art Triennial 2024. The production of the event and all related work form the artistic component of this thesis, which I explore as a personal, chronologically progressing process. My approach is autoethnographic and essayistic: I reflect on my experiences using material such as messages, notes, photographs, and audio recordings. The work highlights the intersections between artistic and production-oriented work, the tensions of community-based art practice, and the connections between street art, personal history, and the urban environment of Myyrmäki, Vantaa. During the thesis process, I have explored work-related exhaustion, professional identity, and the balancing act of creative work—particularly through recognizing and learning from my own boundaries and assumptions.
