Abstract

Visual effects for stereoscopic 3D contents, experiences from the Don't Look Back-project is a description of workflow and phases I went through by making of visual effects on stereoscopic 3D footage filmed earlier in 2010. Work includes two shots from the Don't Look Back-project, where I had opportunity to make computer generated imagery and visual effects. Stereoscopic three dimensional (s3D) refers in cinema to the films which are seen with specific glasses on. S3D material is created with two cameras, which imitate human eyes and are then shown for the spectator in a way that it creates illusion of depth. This master thesis you are holding in your hands shows the workflow from the view of s3D visual effects artist. A process includes my role in shootings, sketching, making of computer generated imagery and visual effects. My intention is to point out issues which are needed to recognize when visual effects are made for s3D with Autodesk 3ds Max and the Foundrys NukeX software.
