Abstract
Tutkimuskysymys: Miten ja miksi tehdä taidetta muunlajisille metsään ja onko se taidetta?
Hypoteesi: Lajienvälinen taidekommunikointi on aistiviestin lähettämistä ja sen tietoista vastaanottamista.
Tämä taiteellinen tutkimus on poikkitieteellinen essee, joka käsittelee taidekommunikointia muunlajisen kanssa. Teen ja installoin taidenäyttelyn metsään ja sen eläimille ja etsin syitä tekemiselleni. Käsittelen taidetta paitsi ilmaisuna myös leikkinä ja aistiviestinä tietoiselta toiselle tietoiselle ja etsin keinoja ilmaista viestini vieraille aisteille. Kysyn, onko lajienvälinen kommunikointi taiteen keinoin taidetta.
Aluksi avaan kronologisesti taiteellisen työskentelyn etenemistä tekijän ja vastaanottajan aistimaailman kautta ja perspektiivistä. Seuraavissa luvuissa esittelen näyttelyvierailijat ja analysoin kokemusta taiteilijana. Pohdin lajienvälistä taidekommunikointia ja muunlajisten erilaisuutta. Käsittelen lajisuutta ja taiteilijuutta osana luonnon kiertokulkua.
Lopuksi ehdotan, että taiteen voi käsittää vuorovaikutteisena leikkinä ja aistiviestinä lajisuudesta riippumatta.
Opinnäyte sisältää valokuvia ja riistakameraotoksia taiteellisesta työskentelystä, teosten installoinnista ja näyttelyvierailuista ja tekstiä rytmittävät prosessin aikana syntyneet runot.
Research Question:
How and why create art for nonhumans, and can it be considered as art?
Hypothesis: Interspecies art communication is the sending and conscious reception of a sensory message.
This artistic study is an interdisciplinary essay focusing on art communication with nonhuman entities. I create and install an art exhibition in the boreal forest and its animals, looking for reasons behind my work. I view art not only as a form of self-
expression but also as a sensory message intended for another conscious being. My aim is to find ways to convey my message through the senses of nonhumans. I question whether interspecies communication through art is possible.
Initially I will chronologically explore the artistic process through the sensory world and perspectives of both the author and the receiver. In the following chapters, I will introduce the visitors of the exhibition and analyse the experience as an
artist. I reflect on interspecies art communication and the diversity of other species as part of the natural cycle.
Finally, I propose that art can be understood as interactive play and sensory communication, regardless of species.
The thesis includes photographs and game camera shots of artistic work, installation of works and exhibition visits, and the text is punctuated by poems created during the process.
Frågeställning: Hur och varför skapa konst för icke-människor, och kan det betraktas som konst?
Hypotes: Konstkommunikation mellan arter är sändandet och det medvetna mottagandet av ett sensoriskt meddelande.
Denna konstnärliga studie är en tvärvetenskaplig essä om konstens kommunikation men andra slag. Jag skapar och installerar en konstutställning för den boreala skogen och dess djur och letar efter anledningar till det jag gör.
Jag behandlar konst inte bara som ett sätt att uttrycka sig själv, utan också som ett sensoriskt meddelande till en annan medveten. jag letar efter sätt att kommunicera till främmande sinnen. Jag frågar om konstkommunikation mellan arter är konst.
Inledningsvis kommer jag att kronologiskt utforska den konstnärliga processen genom både författarens och mottagarens sensoriska värld och perspektiv. I de följande kapitlen kommer jag att presentera utställningens besökare och analysera upplevelsen som konstnär. Jag reflekterar över konstkommunikation mellan arter
och mångfalden av andra arter som en del av det naturliga kretsloppet.
Slutligen föreslår jag att konst kan förstås som interaktiv lek och sensorisk kommunikation, oavsett art.
Avhandlingen innehåller fotografier och spelkamerabilder av konstnärligt arbete, installationer av verk och utställningsbesök, och texten avbryts av dikter som skapats under processens gång.
