Abstract

Tässä opinnäytteessä tutkin, miten minulle tärkeä ja nostalginen musiikkiteos, Kesha - Animal, toimii inspiraation ja tarinankerronnallisuuden lähteenä keramiikkaproduktiolle. Opinnäytteen ensimmäisessä osassa esittelen tutkimukseni teoreettisen viitekehyksen, joka koostuu inspiraation ja tarinankerronnallisuuden tutkimisesta ja pohdin miten, näitä kahta elementtiä pystyy hyödyntämään luovassa prosessissa käyttäen musiikkiteosta apunaan. Opinnäytteen toisessa osassa kuvailen produktioni suunnittelun ja toteutuksen, lopussa esittelen pohdintani siitä, kuinka teoria ja produktio kohtasivat. Keshan rohkea ja tarinankerronnallinen tyyli inspiroi minua luomaan ilmaisuvoimaisia veistoksia, jotka ilmentävät musiikkikappaleita oman visuaalisen tyylini kautta.

In this thesis I explore how a nostalgic piece of music, Kesha - Animal, which is important to me, serves as a source of inspiration and storytelling for ceramic production. In the first part of the thesis, I present the theoretical framework of my research, which consists of the study of inspiration and storytelling, and discuss how these two elements can be used in the creative process using the music piece as a tool. In the second part of the thesis, I describe the designing process and execution of my production, and at the end I present my reflections on how theory and production came together. Kesha's bold storytelling style inspired me to create expressive sculptures that embody the musical pieces through my own visual style.
