Rakastaja, samarbetet mellan skådespelare och kostymdesigner i arbetet med en pjäs

Abstract

I den skriftliga delen av mitt magisterarbete beskriver jag hur samarbetet mellan skådespelare och kostymdesigner gick till under arbetet med föreställningen Rakastaja, premiär 28.11.2014 på Teaterhögskolan, Helsingfors. Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att analysera samarbetet, vad som påverkar samarbetet och hur det är möjligt att förbättra det. Som metoder använder jag deltagande observationer, intervjuer och kostymval.

I uppsatsen reflekterar jag över vilken betydelse det hade att det endast fanns två skådespelare i projektet och över det faktum att skådespelarna deltog i förhandsplaneringen. Jag analyserar hur vårt samarbete gick till i den gemensamma förhandsplaneringen, våra diskussioner och hur karaktärerna blev till under processen.

I uppsatsen kommer jag fram till två aspekter som kan vara till hjälp för samarbetet mellan skådespelare och kostymdesigner: tidigt samarbete och en tydlig kommunikation. Jag förklarar vad det innebar i det här projektet och funderar över hur det kunde tillämpas i andra projekt.

In my master thesis I write about the collaboration between the actor and the costume designer in the making of Rakastaja, premiered 28.11.2014 in the Theater Academy of Helsinki. The aim of the work is to analyze the collaboration, what influences the collaboration and how it is possible to improve it. The methods used are participatory observation, interviews and costume choices.

In the essay I ponder the meaning of the fact that there only were two actors in the project and that they could participate in the preproduction stage. I analyze our collaboration in the preproduction stage, our discussions and how the characters were born during the process.

In the essay I come to a concusion about what could be helpful for the collaboration between the actor and the costumedesigner: early collaboraton and clear communication. I explain what it meant in this project and I ponder how it could be applied in other projects.
