Abstract

In our increasingly digital world, businesses, especially those in the ride-hailing sector, heavily rely on data collection and use. Yet, with several recent breaches of privacy laws, the critical need for ethical and legally sound methods of data collection has come sharply into focus. The research addresses this issue by proposing a framework designed to acquire data which complies with privacy laws and regulations. The framework focuses on maintaining transparency and accountability, adhering strictly to privacy laws, and still enabling the extraction of valuable data that are essential for enhancing the company's operations and services. Through an integrated approach involving legal review, ethical considerations, and technical development, this work aims to tackle the complex challenges of data collection following incidents of privacy infringements, providing a thorough framework for ethical data practices.
