Abstract
Tässä työssä tutkitaan aligaussisen normin arvoa kolmelle eri tavalla jakautuneelle satunnaismuuttujalle. Tutkittavina jakaumina ovat normaalijakauma, tasajakauma, sekä Bernoulli-jakauma. Arvoa tutkitaan lauseella, joka määrittää normin arvovälin rajat sijaisvarianssin funktiona. Normien ja sijaisvarianssien laskemiseen on käytetty teoreettisia ja mumeerisia menetelmiä.
This thesis investigates the value of the sub-Gaussian norm for three differently distributed random variables. The distributions are the normal distribution, the uniform distribution and the Bernoulli distribution. The value is examined with a proposition, which defines the bounds for the sub-gaussian norm of the random variable with its variance proxy. The norm and variance proxy are calculated using theoretical and numerical methods.
