Abstract

This master’s thesis focuses on creating an understanding of the future of recruiting market through identifying the drivers of the change. Furthermore, technology enables the development and challenges the assumptions that we have for businesses. Therefore, its role within this context and an enabler is studied too. Major emphasis is on the conducted five interviews and the views the interviewees have for the future. Thematic Analysis Model created by two psychologists, Braun and Clarke’s (2006), is used to examine the gathered data and build understanding of the different phenomena, and their scope and characteristics. The analysis is done in six different phases. Findings point out that many of the identified drivers of the change of recruiting are not just concerning recruiting market. For example, the broader turning point of work life will have large effects on how people work and the overall culture around the concept the we relate to work and community. Additionally, even though technology is not as widely used in recruiting yet, its role will increase in the future as the technologies will continue to develop and the promise of value is claimed.
