Abstract
A new production line was established at NCE Oy to facilitate the production of a glass fiber reinforced plastic hull for a ballast water management system. The unit consists of a flange and a collar which are made by liquid composite molding. The collar and flange are joined by a cone which is made by hoop-axial winding. A new winding machine was designed to manufacture the hull. A description is made about FRP, both in regards to materials used and manufacturing methods. Strength tests of different FRP laminates were analyzed. It was concluded that they have a very large variance. Based on this information, more material tests should be conducted to optimize the strength values used in the FEM calculations.

En ny produktionslinje etablerades på NCE Oy för att tillverka ett skrov i fiberarmerad plast för ett barlastvattenreningssystem. Enheten består av en krage och en fastfläns, vilka tillverkas med vakuuminjicering. Kragen och fastflänsen ansluts till varandra med en reducering, tillverkad med lindning. En ny lindningsmaskin konstruerades för att tillverka skrovet. GAP beskrivs, både som material samt enligt dess tillverkningsmetoder. Hållfasthetstest för olika GAP laminat granskades. Variansen på testen konstaterades vara anmärkningsvärt stor. Baserat på denna information borde mera materialtest gö-ras, för att optimera hållfasthetsvärden i FEM beräkningarna.
