Abstract
This research explores enhancing user control and satisfaction with AI-generated learning content (AIGLC) through a Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach. Based on related work and several prestudies on an AIGLC system, design implications are defined and translated into the redesigns. The work employs an iterative design process (V2 and V3) to address usability challenges, with evaluations refining the designs. The two main contributions are evaluated design implications for AIGLC systems and concrete design implementations based on the human-centered, iterative approach. Implications include user-controlled levels of detail, a conscious selection of AIGLC, the inclusion of source content for transparency, and the promotion of multimodal content for improved learning. This research highlights the significance of prioritizing user control and customization in AI-generated educational materials, with the aim of facilitating tailored learning content and ultimately enhancing learning experiences.Description
