Abstract
Perinteisesti asukkaiden yhteiskäyttötilat on käsitetty lähinnä taloyhtiön asukkaiden yhteisinä saunoina tai kerhohuoneina. Muutokset yhteiskunnassa ovat kuitenkin muokanneet sekä tilankäyttöä että asukkaiden tarpeita. Kaupunginosa- ja kaupunkikohtaisten yhteiskäyttötilojen määrä kasvaa yhä useamman kunnan tarjotessa asukkailleen laajemman alueen yhteiskäyttötiloja. Jakaminen ja yhteiskäyttö ovat viimeisen vuosikymmenen aikana levinneet myös globaaliksi talouden ilmiöksi, jakamistaloudeksi. Joutilaan resurssin jakamisen lisäksi keskeistä jakamistalouden mukaisille palveluille on niiden toiminnan painottuminen verkkoon. Tämän diplomityön tavoitteena on selvittää, miten kaupungin asukkaiden alueelliset yhteiskäyttötilat ja niihin kohdistuvat tarpeet vertautuvat jakamistalouden mukaisten yhteiskäyttöisten tilojen malliin. Työn tutkimusmenetelminä käytettiin kirjallisuustutkimusta sekä kyselytutkimusta. Kirjallisuustutkimuksen avulla pyrittiin vastaamaan kysymyksiin siitä, mitä jakamistalous on ja miten se toimii. Jakamistalouden ilmiöistä coworking-tilat ja niiden toiminta otettiin lähempään tarkasteluun. Lisäksi kirjallisuuskatsauksessa esiteltiin erilaisia yhteiskäyttötilatyyppejä sekä perinteisiä asukkaiden yhteiskäyttötiloja. Työn empiirinen osuus koostui kahdesta verkkokyselystä, jotka edustivat kahta eri näkökulmaa. Alueellisten yhteiskäyttötilojen käyttäjien näkökulmaa edusti asukkaille suunnattu kysely ja kunnallisten yhteiskäyttötilojen tarjoajanäkökulmaa puolestaan koulujen rehtoreille suunnattu kysely. Asukaskyselyn tavoitteena oli selvittää, millaisille yhteiskäyttötiloille on tarvetta sekä muutamia muita yhteiskäyttötiloihin liittyviä tekijöitä. Rehtoreille suunnatun kyselyn tavoitteena oli tutkia joitakin koulutilojen ulkopuoliseen käyttöön liittyviä aspekteja. Tutkimuksessa selvisi, että asukkaiden alueellisissa yhteiskäyttötiloissa on useita jakamistalouden kaltaisia piirteitä. Yhteistilojen käytön perustana on joutilaan resurssin jakaminen ja tätä myötä vajaakäyttöasteen pienentäminen. Asukkaiden yhteiskäyttötilat toteuttavat ajatusta siitä, että hyödykettä ei tarvitse omistaa päästäkseen nauttimaan siitä. Myös asukkaiden ja rehtoreiden toiveet yhteiskäyttötiloja koskien sisälsivät jakamistalouden mallin mukaisia piirteitä, kuten tilan varaamisen painottumista verkkoon sekä tilan isännöintiä. Eroja löytyi etenkin palvelutarjonnasta, tilan käytön tavoitteesta sekä jakamisen toimintamallista. Tässä diplomityössä saatuja tuloksia voidaan hyödyntää yhteiskäyttötilojen suunnittelussa ja kehittämisessä, vastaten sekä käyttäjien että tarjoajien tarpeisiin.Traditionally, shared spaces for residents are understood as common saunas or other common rooms for the residents of a building. However, changes in the society have reshaped the use of space as well as the needs of citizens. As the number of common rooms for a specific building decreases, the number of common rooms for a wider area, provided by municipalities, increases. During the last decade, sharing and collaborative use have grown into a global, economical phenomenon called sharing economy. In addition to sharing an idle resource, typical for sharing economy is that services and possessions are shared by means of the Internet. The aim of this thesis is to examine, how the regional shared spaces of residents and the need for them compare to the model of sharing economy based shared spaces. The research methods in this study are a literature review and surveys. In the literature review, the aim was to examine, what sharing economy is and how it functions. Furthermore, coworking spaces were examined, as well as the different types of shared spaces and traditional shared spaces of residents. The empirical part of this thesis comprised of two online surveys, from two different point of views. Residential survey represented the user’s point of view, and the survey for the headmasters represented the point of view of a municipal shared space provider. The aim of the residential survey was to research the residents’ needs and other factors for shared spaces. The survey for headmasters aimed to study the aspects of external use of school premises. The study reveals that there are several similarities between regional shared spaces and sharing economy based models. The collaborative use of space aims to share an idle resource, thus decreasing the vacancy rate. Additionally, shared premises implement the principle of no need to own to be able to consume the goods. Residents and headmasters wished to have an online booking system and management of the premises, which both resemble the model of sharing economy. The main differences can be found in the provided services, the objectives for the use of space, and the operating model of sharing. The results of this study can be utilized when designing and developing the future shared spaces for residents.Description
