Abstract

Content moderation plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and active engagement of online users. However, manually carrying out moderation tasks can be time-consuming and resource intensive. This research aims to investigate how content moderation can be improved through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The thesis begins by exploring approaches to content moderation and the challenges associated with them. Our primary focus is on the CoralTalk platform, which is commonly used for content moderation. Furthermore, we used a design science research methodology to develop a solution that integrates third-party AI moderation tool into the CoralTalk system. After conducting tests and evaluations we have determined that our integrated solution is both reliable and effective, in real-life situations. The solution effectively showcased how to connect the AI moderation tool with the CoralTalk platform. Moreover, the solution enabled to enhance the capabilities of the AI moderation tool within the system, resulting in automating the content moderation processes.
