Abstract
The development of digital system has made a huge boost on hydraulic field. Instead of using just only traditional hydraulic components, many researches which integrated intelligent digital control to hydraulic system has been done recently. The main purpose of digital hydraulic addon are reducing energy loss, improving energy efficiency and stability of the traditional hydraulic system. One of the most promising revolution technologies has to be mentioned is multi-pressure system. It consists of variety pressure sources which are located locally in the system by using accumulator and pressure converted cylinders. The connection between actuator and pressure sources has been made through parallel on/off valves system. Besides that, the pump in the system is not working all the time like in traditional hydraulic system. Instead of that, intelligent control has been involved to switch the pump on and off base on purpose which helps reduce a lot of electric consumption. However, the complexity in control system, and expensive components required are the barriers for widely testing of multi-pressure system. There-fore, this thesis aims to develop low cost, high efficiency digital control and monitoring interface for multi-pressure hydraulic system so that the system can be easily installed and test in future. The validation system has been used to control the boom swing hydraulic cylinder on mini-excavator. The system design adapted both laboratory research and practical use condition. Besides that, the use of logging data was also be represented. The final discussion would be about how to improve the system design and further research paths.Description
