Abstract
Efficient data management and product development keep an organization competitive and healthy. Product development creates loads of engineering data, thus it is important to store and maintain it so that it is easily accessible. Product data management (PDM) systems were created to help with the data control and maintenance of especially product and technical data. Canatu a scale-up nanotechnology company decided to upgrade their data management process by implementing a PDM system. Canatu products are complex, and therefor require careful planning on how to structure them on the PDM system. A structure and processes for data control of Canatu products on the PDM system was created with mixed methods through a combination of literary analysis, interviews and surveys. The results of the created structure, processes and system itself, were evaluated based on product development efficiency.Description
