Abstract

I dagsläget anses säkerheten i elektrisk apparatur vara mer kritisk än någonsin tidigare. Därför försöker många företag skaffa certifikat till sina produkter för att intyga att alla säkerhetsaspekter har tagits i beaktande. Detta fenomen gäller även för frekvensomvandlare, var termen "funktionell säkerhet" har vuxit i popularitet den senaste tiden. Att skaffa ett intyg för funktionell säkerhet är dock en mycket krävande uppgift ur utvecklarens synvinkel. Syftet med detta examensarbete är att planera och specificera ett testsystem för integrerings- och systemtestning för utvecklingen av funktionell säkerhet i frekvensomvandlare. Testsystemet har utvecklats inom ett projekt för funktionell säkerhet och kommer användas till att testa nya säkerhetsmoduler. Både testsystemet och dess testfall har specificerats enligt kraven för funktionell säkerhet, som finns i standarden IEC 61508. Genom att utveckla testsystemet enligt anvisningarna i detta examensarbete borde certifieringsprocessen underlättas och kraven på hårdvaruintegration- och systemtestningen vara utförda. För att ge läsaren lite bakgrundsinformation till detta projekt berättas grunderna om frekvensomvandlare och säkerhetsfunktionerna använda i dessa. Dessutom förklaras grundläggande kunskap om funktionell säkerhet för att ge tillräcklig vetskap om viktiga termer, utvecklingprinciper och hur testningen utförs. Examensarbetet baserar sig till största delen på standarden för funktionell säkerhet och det är därifrån testningskraven presenteras och utvärderas. De testtyper som är nödvändiga att uppfylla av testsystemet beskrivs mera noggrant och orsaken till att övriga test lämnats utanför förklaras. Från slutsatserna av denna utvärdering utvecklas sedan testfall till dessa testtyper, varav några exempel av dessa presenteras i examensarbetet. Utöver testfallen beskrivs även utvecklingen av själva testsystemet. Utifrån använda test presenteras en bänk för testning av funktionell säkerhet. Kraven för varje del i detta testsystem presenteras och de valda komponenterna beskrivs. Examensarbetet utgör ett koncept för utförandet av integrations- och systemtestning i detta projekt. Konceptet omfattar testsystemet, testfall och de delar av standarden som tagits i beaktande samt vad som fortfarande behöver utföras i projektets testningsfas. På det hela taget presenterar examensarbetet viktiga val inom utvecklingen av ett testsystem för detta funktionella säkerhetsprojekt.

Today, safety in different electrical appliances is considered more critical than ever before. This is why many companies tries to certify their products to ensure that the safety aspects have been met. This is also true for AC drives where the term "functional safety" is a growing trend nowadays. But to claim a functional safety certification requires much effort from the developers point of view. The purpose of this thesis is to plan and specify an integration and system testing system for functional safety development for AC drives. The test system is developed in a functional safety project and will be used in testing new safety modules. The test system as well as test cases are specified according to the requirements in the functional safety standard IEC 61508. By developing the test system according to directions given in this thesis the certification process should be eased and the requirements for hardware integration and system testing should be fulfilled. To give the reader some background information about the project, the basics about AC drives and the safety functions used in drives. Furthermore the core knowledge about functional safety is presented to give sufficient knowledge about important terms, development and testing. The entire thesis relies heavily on the functional safety standard from which the requirements for testing is presented and evaluated. The required tests that are determined to be fulfilled by the test system are described in more detail and the reasons for leaving out the other tests are explained. From the conclusions from this evaluation, test cases are developed. Some examples of these are presented in the thesis. Apart from developing test cases, the actual test system development is also planned. A test-bench for testing the functional safety system is described based on the required tests. Requirements for each component in the test system are presented and the chosen components are described. As a result the thesis presents a concept for executing integration and system testing for this project. The concept includes the test system, test cases and what parts of the standard have been included and what still needs to be done in the testing phase of the project. All in all the thesis presents important choices regarding the development of the test system for this project.
