Abstract
This paper deals with the development of the control technique for the AFE rectifier. A modulated model predictive control (MPC) technique is presented to provide a constant switching frequency while retaining all the advantages of the conventional direct MPC techniques. The proposed control technique significantly improves the power quality and enhances the steady-state and transient performance, while decreasing the computation burden and tracking error. The control technique can ensure a fast and automatic synchronizing to the grid. Simulation results in MATLAB/Simulink show high performance of the proposed control technique in regulating DC-link voltage, and reference power tracking, and a reduced THD of current compared to the direct MPC technique.
