Abstract
There has been increasing usage and demand for AI tools in various fields, including education, healthcare, transportations, etc. Alongside the benefits that AI tools can provide, they also introduce a number of problems, such as copyright issues, data leakage, privacy invasion, etc. Since AI systems possess significant impact in numerous aspects, it is important to examine AI tools carefully to prevent undesirable situations. To achieve this goal, this thesis aims to gain insights into the concept of trustworthy AI by conducting a literature review of the European guidelines for trustworthy AI. The thesis then examines closely a specific aspect of trustworthy AI, data privacy and governance, and the methods to achieve this aspect. To further analyze and evaluate possible methods, this thesis selects Nightshade, a data poisoning tool, as a specific example among existing technical methods. Additionally, to gain a more inclusive comprehension of trustworthy AI guidelines, this thesis provides a comparison between European framework and Singaporean framework. Subsequently, evaluations of findings, research limitations and suggestions for further research are discussed.Description
