Abstract
Recent digital developments have opened up various possibilities for the healthcare industry. Broader access to data enables new approaches to deliver healthcare services. Patients access to their own health records and self-tracking provide an interesting future approach. Moreover, organizations’ internal data sharing has potential to improve the comprehensive care. This thesis contributes to the discussion of the potential of data-driven solutions in the healthcare industry. The focus areas lie in future data-driven solutions and the implementation issues of such applications. To supply business insight for these subjects, qualitative interviews were conducted. The findings of these interviews highlight the importance of acknowledging the practical influences of data-driven solutions and offer techniques to understanding the implementation issues in the healthcare industry.
