Abstract
Despite being well-designed and constructed, pavements inevitably degrade over time due to traffic and environmental factors. To combat this, maintenance steps, such as crack sealing and patching target specific issues, slow down the overall deterioration. For efficient and effective maintenance processes, pavement management system (PMS) is widely utilized. It can influence determining the most appropriate time for replacing the pavement to keep it at expedient condition with the decided budget. Attempts to apply the digital twin into the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) field are being actively made, and pavement engineering is one of them. The digital twin is like a detailed blueprint that grows and evolves with the components, ensuring a comprehensive and useful guide. The well-developed digital twin of the pavement must act as a prior space for making and analyzing maintenance decisions. Thus, the aim of this study is to review on state-of-art digital twin in pavement management, from its methodology for development to its application into the decision process.Description
