Abstract
Race Code is political media art installation, which handles the issues of racism and prejudice. This thesis consists of the media art installation Race Code and of a written part. In the written part of the thesis I will address the creative issues and concepts regarding the designing and making of the media art installation. The artwork itself in presented as a documentation DVD. The main objective of the written thesis is to study the different processes involving the creation of this artwork. The secondary objective is to analyze and review the artwork from an artistic viewpoint. I will also compare the artwork to other similar works to define its place in the sphere of art about race. I will also shortly examine the representations of race issues in contemporary art and the use of face recognition software in an art context.Description
