Abstract

The study aims to find the best parameters for preparing CNF-based membranes with a partial regeneration process with ionic liquids. The research will also attempt to analyse the mechanical and structural properties of the prepared membranes and compare partially regenerated cellulose by ionic liquid (IL) with non-regenerated CNF-based membranes. As a result, the preparation method for CNF-based membranes was developed and tested. The solvent-treated membranes showed higher flux and permeance results, whereas they were mechanically fragile. Further development of the preparation stage is needed in order to solve the emerging issue.
