Abstract
Rural residential land circulation is part of China's next potential reform on rural land due to induced institutional change, especially after the permission of farmland circulation in 2008. To provide suggestions for the potential reform of rural residential land circulation, this study focuses on investigating farmers' preferences concerning the ways of rural residential land circulation based on the nature of the rural residential land circulation. It is necessary to take farmers' preferences into consideration when discussing the reform of rural residential land circulation. In order to understand the nature of rural residential land circulation, institutional change theory and property rights theory are combined based on the literature reviews. A. multiple-case study is conducted in three villages of China to obtain empirical data of farmers' preferences on rural residential land circulation. The data on this issue is collected through three ways: face to face questionnaires to sample farmers, interviews to local officials and direct observations. Then statistic software SPSS is adopted to analyze the data from the logit model. Conclusions of farmers' preferences and suggestions for reform are given at last.Description
