Gender diversity within business environments has emerged as a critical issue in contemporary society, sparking debates, initiatives, and a growing consciousness about its impact on business performance, societal dynamics, and individual opportunities. This thesis examines the perceptions of future women leaders regarding gender diversity in organizational top management. Utilizing a survey conducted among participants of a leading global company’s women's leadership program in 2023, the study explores three primary themes: organizational commitment to gender diversity, barriers to achieving gender diversity, and women’s perceptions of opportunities for attaining top management roles. The findings reveal strong valuation of gender diversity, with leadership representation and commitment seen as essential indicators of organizational dedication. The identified key barriers include organizational biases, inadequate mentorship, and challenging work-life balance dynamics, influenced by entrenched societal and cultural norms. Despite these challenges, the respondents show a high degree of confidence in their potential to achieve top management positions, possibly fostered by the supportive structure of the leadership program. The study highlights the need for organizations to adopt more transparent and inclusive practices to effectively promote gender diversity. Recommendations include enhancing mentorship programs, ensuring transparent career progression policies, and addressing work-life balance comprehensively. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on gender diversity in leadership, proposing actionable steps for organizations to foster a genuinely inclusive workplace.en
