Abstract

Since snow research started at the Finnish Antarctic station in Dronning Maud Land, an increase of snow accumulation has been observed. The data was collected locally and not continuously. The aim of the project is to expand the ground observations at and around the Aboa station, by seeing if satellite data can be used to observe the same change in snow accumulation. Both CryoSat-2 and IceSat-2 have their difficulties approximating to in-situ measurements. Data availability and a proximation to in-situ measurement are crucial to approximate satellite data to in-situ.
