Abstract

Tämä diplomityö käsittelee tutkimusryhmätyöskentelyä sekä sen toimintatapojen tehostamista. Tutkimusongelmana on selvittää, miten tutkimusryhmän ja tutkimuksen kohteena olevien henkilöiden työmäärää voidaan helpottaa Internet-sivuston avulla. Sivustolla yhdistetään useita eri tutkimusvaiheita, joihin kuuluu jokaiseen omia kyselylomakkeita sekä niistä saatavan tiedon analysointia. Sivusto toteutetaan avoimeen lähdekoodiin perustuvalla PHP-ohjelmointikielellä sekä MySQL-tietokannalla. Tutkimuksen kohteena oleva tutkimusryhmä on toiminut jo viiden vuoden ajan ja tänä aikana suurimmat manuaaliset työvaiheet ovat hahmottuneet selkeästi niiden automatisointia varten.

This is a Master's Thesis about scientific group working and how to make it more efficient. The research problem is how to reduce extra work for both researchers and people participating to the research by using web pages. In the web pages there is combined several research phases which includes many questionnaire forms and data analysis. These pages are based on open source PHP-code and MySQL-database. Subject research group of this study has worked together for five years and in this time they have build a strong opinion where the most time is spent and where is most needed manual work.
