Abstract
The main objectives of this study were to (1) examine occurrences of Business Model Innovation (BMI) in EdTech startups and (2) address the challenges and opportunities in the Bangladesh EdTech startup landscape. The study aims to contribute to understanding the business model innovation process in the context of EdTech startups in Bangladesh. This study used qualitative research to examine the business model innovation of two case companies. The study mapped the innovation occurrences with the help of Business Model Canvas (BMC). The main findings also focused on the overall landscape of EdTech startups in Bangladesh. The study found that business model innovation can occur in any element of the business model canvas and is not restricted to certain elements. The study also highlighted the significance of the lean startup approach in the innovation process. It also identified the main challenges as Technological infrastructure and opportunities as Market development in the EdTech industry of Bangladesh. Finally, it provided recommendations to local startups and implications for international business.Description
