Abstract
Project management process varies in different industries and in various projects. Developing companies have detected, that it is important to define a set of working procedures and information charts to support the project management process. Performance measurement has become more common way to observe, how the processes work and how they could be developed. This research is concentrated on project management during order fulfilment process for Electrical Machines in ABB Oy. Process is charted and examined and the problem areas are defined trough charting, interviews and with the help of internal benchmarking. Project Management process is quite extensive so main stress of this research is on few areas that need most urgently developing. Unifying the process is important, so that the service for the customer is always the same. In the department of project management wastage rate of the personnel is quite great so standardization of the process helps the new employees learn correct working procedures. Current performance measurements are developed and new ideas for developing old measurement tools are evaluated. Also new measurements are suggested and parameters for measurements defined. The connection between measurements and bonus system is also reviewed. Change process of machines is developed using Six Sigma tool.
