Abstract
The goal of this master’s thesis was to examine electromechanical properties of graphene sheets under various strain on plastic substrates such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) and poly(p-xylylene), more known as parylene. Firstly, to distinguish the growth quality of chemical vapor deposited (CVD) graphene, graphene sheets were transferred on SiO2/Si substrate by “bubbling” transfer method. Optical microscope, Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were used to characterize transfer process quality as well as growth quality of graphene. Secondly, reliable quality graphene sheets were transferred on PET and PEN by “bubbling” transfer and wet etching process, respectively. Silver paste and Cu tape as well as electron beam evaporation were used for contacts fabrication. Finally, the electromechanical properties of samples were investigated by using a homemade bending machine along with four-point probe. SEM was used to see cracks after the bending test
